Veteran forward Markieff Morris was formally cleared to return to the Miami Heat on Saturday, back in the mix for the team’s game against the Minnesota Timberwolves at FTX Arena. Because of the severity of the neck injury he sustained in his Nov. 8 run-in with Denver Nuggets center Nikola Jokic, and because of a…
Since serving a one-game suspension for a cheap shot to Heat forward Markieff Morris, Nuggets center Nikola Jokic has moved on with building his MVP case.
Last month on his way out of AdventHealth Arena, Markieff Morris paused near a group of reporters, cradling the Larry O’Brien Trophy under his arm. “She look good, don’t she?” he asked with a beaming grin. “She look great.” Now the man who carried the championship trophy out of the building looks to bring it…
Following up on a huge win in game 1 of the NBA Finals, Lakers forward… The post Markieff Morris Claims AD is the Best Player in the NBA appeared first on LEAGUE ALERTS.
Following up on a huge win in game 1 of the NBA Finals, Lakers forward Markieff Morris had a very interesting take about his all star teammates. He mentioned that he believes they have the best player in the World, but it is not Lebron James. He claims AD is the best in the game, because of how consistent he is on both ends.
In a year where LBJ was a genuine MVP candidate, this becomes a very bold take. He averaged a career high, league leading 10.2 assists per game this year, to go along with his 25 points and 7.8 rebounds. However, Anthony Davis did average over 26 points, over 9 rebounds, and over 1.5 steals and blocks per game this past season.
On the defensive end, Davis was a genuine DPOY candidate, while Lebron still seems to pick his spots on defense during the season. However, despite this, LBJ is a much more versatile offensive player, facilitating for his teammates and dominating both inside and out. Davis has become a better perimeter player, but still does not dictate the offense the way Lebron does.Advertisements
Markieff certainly is not the only one expressing this opinion, but it is early to dethrone the King. He still runs the league until he dramatically drops off, and he has shown these playoffs that on any given night he can statistically dominate a game to ensure a Lakers win.
LAKE BUENA VISTA, Fla. — His teammates call him “Smooth.” Markieff Morris is “Smooth” because of his low-pitched baritone that soft until the moment he needs to start talking tough on the court. “Smooth” wears blue Crocs after games — prioritizing comfort over fashion — and when he walks he takes slow, gliding strides. Most…
LAKE BUENA VISTA, Fla. >> Lakers and Clippers eating together? In the bubble, it happens almost every morning. Makieff and Marcus Morris Sr. wouldn’t do it any other way. They stroll down to Three Bridges Bar and Grill and order bacon and eggs, or sometimes pancakes, every morning their schedules allow. They talk about their…

As of Tuesday afternoon, Markieff Morris was en route to Disney World and preparing to begin quarantine on campus, Frank Vogel and the Lakers finally acknowledged.
