Snowy’s done a great job this year at getting our penalty kill organized and having such a high standard for executing the plan and the details and our players have really gone out there and competed. Tons of blocked shots today. You can tell everyone really bought in.

There was definitely a lot of confidence in his ability to come in and play. Given the situation, I thought he was technically sound and was calm and gave us a chance to win and made our team feel calm from the net.

Anytime you’re on the road, teams usually come out pretty hard in their own building. I thought we did a good job of weathering that and managing it. The majority of their chances were on the outside of the perimeter and we protected the middle of the rink well. Then eventually once we started driving the puck down the rink and we get the first one, we started to have more success finding ways to get to their end.

    got a whole bunch of time to catch their breath in-between shifts so just making sure pucks are
    consistently moving forward and they have to come through all five of us defensively and we’re just doing
    really good things with the puck through the neutral zone, entering the offensive zone, making sure it’s
    just really good decisions and that we’re aren’t just giving them any easy plays back up our ice. Especially
    since they’re trying to change quick and stay fresh so not getting caught in any changes and just being
    aware of some of those circumstances and what we’re dealing with. Obviously building the lead that we

    On playing four defencemen in the third period:
    “It’s doable, in terms of the workload and conditioning side of it. You have to take shorter shifts and it’s a
    bit harder with structure because you have to be thinking about it a lot. You’re kind of hyper aware if
    you’re trapped in your own zone. I think we iced the puck more in the third than we would have liked to
    but I thought we did a good job of it tonight. Our forwards did a good job too helping us out, we talked
    about that in-between periods when we knew it was possible we were going to go down to four about not
    turning the puck over in the neutral zone, playing short and smart with it so I thought we did a good job.”
    ALEXANDER KERFOOT
    On tonight’s effort:
    “I think just the full 60 minutes, just stuck with it the whole game. It was a pretty complete game out of us,
    didn’t give them much life there. Towards the end they got a couple but we still felt like we were in control
    of the game and these guys have been playing as good as anyone in the league so that’s a really good
    divisional win for us.”

    “I thought we were pretty calm and poised. Obviously it’s a big load for the d-men playing back there,
