- Auston Matthews put the Maple Leafs on the board at 4:56 of the first period and later scored the third Maple Leafs goal of the night at 19:47 of the third period. Matthews has goals (4) in three consecutive games and points (7-4-11) in six consecutive games. His first period goal is his 30th goal of 2019-20, making him the first player in Maple Leaf history and the 16th player in NHL history to reach the 30-goal mark in four consecutive seasons to begin their career, per NHL Stats. He is also the first American-born player to accomplish the feat.
