    POSTGAME QUOTES:
    HEAD COACH SHELDON KEEFE
    On tonight’s game:
    Sheldon Keefe
: “Yeah, same story that it’s been here with just too many chances against. Too many freebees, too many guys behind us, same issues that were hurting us when we weren’t winning games early in the season. The fact that we won tonight is a good thing, fortunate to get a little bit of a bounce
there but to me we win the game on special teams and goaltending but get outplayed pretty badly at 5-on-5.”
On Mrazek’s first game back from injury:
Sheldon Keefe: “I just thought he competed really hard. He looked good, made a lot of big saves. You know I think those two long ones he probably wants back but he made a number of high end saves that
could have been goals. When it was 4-1 for a good chunk of that second period, I thought it could have been a tie game just with the level of chances we were giving up so that’s a good effort by him and the
fact that he gets out of it feeling good from a health perspective is even better.”
    DAVID KÄMPF
    On his game winning goal:
David Kämpf: “It feels great to score in the last couple minutes, big goal for us so yeah for sure feels
    good.”
On if it feels better scoring against his former team:
David Kämpf: “I don’t know, it doesn’t matter who it’s against.”
On letting the Blackhawks back into the game after going up 4-1:
David Kämpf: “I think we had a good lead there but then lost a couple plays there and they got a couple
goals and it was tie game so there was a bit of bad but two big points for us is huge.”
    JOHN TAVARES
On the powerplays recent success even without Mitch in the lineup:
John Tavares: “Well we miss Mitchy, there is no doubt. I think all the guys that are out there with Mitchy
and with Kaše who’s obviously shown the tremendous impact he’s made all year for us so he’s fit in really
well for us and I think as a group and the type of players we have we all believe in our abilities to make
the right plays and create opportunities. We aren’t making it too complicated. Just taking what’s given to
us and getting some pucks to the net, working hard to retrieve pucks and winning lots of battles to
continue the momentum and eventually break them down and I like our shooters that we got.”
    WILLIAM NYLANDER
    On tonight’s win:
William Nylander: “Obviously a win is huge and I thought Mrazek played a really good game, made a
couple huge saves for us. We got a good lucky bounce and we needed that one.”
On what made it challenging for the team at 5-on-5:
William Nylander: “I think we just lost track of our process, the way we want to play. I think we started to
give pucks away and weren’t able to get pucks deep and play behind their goal line which is what led to
the game opening up like that.”
    PETR MRÁZEK
On his first game back from injury:
Petr Mrázek: “It feels good to get two points at home, that’s all that matters. It feels good to be back.”
On if there was any trepidation returning to the lineup:
Petr Mrázek: “Not the start I wanted but that’s how hockey is sometimes. I tried to be focused on the next
puck and I think I settled in pretty well after that.”

Jace Frederick: Maybe the Timberwolves should have tanked last spring — Twin Cities

With their team in the midst of another lengthy losing streak, Timberwolves’ fans are currently clinging to hope that help is on the way. Help beyond the likes of point guard D’Angelo Russell, who has missed the last three games with ankle soreness. The Wolves are 0-5 in games he’s missed this season. But beyond…

POSTGAME QUOTES

HEAD COACH GREG MOORE

On Toronto’s power play (2 goals):

It’s been an accumulation of things over some time. They did a really good job of going out and working as a group of five, executing our game plan. They’re starting to get more comfortable inside of the stuff we’ve given them. We had to change a few things but it paid off today. They did a really good job at having an impact and helping us win a hockey game today.

On Joey Anderson’s three-goal performance:
He’s really impressed the staff and the organization with how he conducts himself. Whether he goes up and he comes down, there is no lull in how he approaches what he does day to day. He’s one of our best leaders in the locker room and for him to come back and be as focused and dialled in with how he approaches his own individual game but also how much he cares about the team and leading and saying the right things at the right times, he was phenomenal today. Not just with the points but his attention to details defensively, finishing his hits, just a really tough person to play against, not even just with the points that he had.

On Erik Källgren’s performance:

He makes it look easy. He’s so technically sound. His balance and ability to recover and get to secondary shots and rebounds around the net is really impressive. He made some really big, key saves for us when the game was more within one goal there early and in the middle of the game. He’s found a lot of consistency and that’s because of his habits and his details.

JOEY ANDERSON (3 GOALS)

On his connection with Brett Seney:

It’s awesome. Brett’s one of my best friends off the ice too. The chemistry that we have there just builds on the ice and we both play the game the same way which makes it easy for us and we add different components that complement each other well. We both want each other to succeed which is the best part. I’m excited for him and he’s excited for me when things go our way. We do anything we can for each other.
