Report: Markelle Fultz, Orlando Magic Agree to Three-Year Extension — NBC4 Washington

Magic guard and DMV native Markelle Fultz has signed a three-year, $50 million extension to remain in Orlando, according to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski.

Last season, his first with the Magic, Fultz appeared in 72 games with 60 starts. The guard averaged a career-high in points (12.2), assists (5.1) field goal percentage (46.5%) and free throw percentage (73.0%), turning around his career after two injury-riddled seasons with Philadelphia.

The No. 1 overall pick in the 2017 NBA Draft, Fultz had been labeled a bust by many after playing in just 33 games for the 76ers over his first two seasons before being dealt to Orlando. The 22-year-old’s shooting form became a topic of conversation, as it contained an unorthodox hitch and looked drastically different from when he starred at the University of Washington.
