On how the game turned after the first period:
The first period wasn’t a problem at all. I thought we had a good start. We were focused on our game plan. We spent quite a bit of time in the defensive zone. Coming out into the second period, I don’t know if the team felt a little comfortable with how the first period went. We started to get away from our details and our game plan a bit and they stepped up. They started working harder, they started finishing checks, they started making life hard on us taking away time and space and we didn’t answer quick enough and things got away from us too quickly there in the second.

UPDATE ON BLUE JAYS HOME GAME TIMES AND LOCATION
The Toronto Blue Jays today announce the club will play its third homestand (May 14 to 24) at TD Ballpark in Dunedin, FL, with updated game times summarized below and a complete updated 2021 regular season schedule in the attached:
Tickets for the third Blue Jays regular season homestand, starting May 14 vs. the Philadelphia Phillies, go on sale to the general public on Thursday, April 15 at 10 a.m. ET (bluejays.com/tickets).
No decision has been made on a Blue Jays home location following the first three homestands, but the primary goal remains returning to play on Canadian soil as soon as it is safe to do so. The club has been actively working through plans for what a safe return to Rogers Centre would look like, while also scenario planning alternatives in Dunedin and Buffalo.

ORONTO MARLIES SIGN DEFENCEMAN BRENNAN KAPCHECK
The Toronto Marlies announced today that the hockey club has signed defenceman Brennan Kapcheck to a two-year AHL contract. He will join the Marlies on a professional try-out for the remainder of the 2020-21 season.
Kapcheck, 24, appeared in 19 games with American International College (AIC) this past season, registering 18 assists while serving as captain. The Mt. Prospect, IL native led his team to the 2021 Atlantic Hockey Championship and was named AHA (East) Player of the Year and Best Defenceman, the first player at AIC to be recognized for both honours. Through four seasons at AIC, Kapcheck recorded 94 points (14 goals, 80 assists) in 128 games, setting a Division I-era school record for career assists.
The Toronto Marlies are the primary development program for the Toronto Maple Leafs. The current Toronto Maple Leafs roster features eight players who were developed with the Marlies (Adam Brooks, Travis Dermott, Pierre Engvall, Justin Holl, Zach Hyman, Timothy Liljegren, William Nylander and Morgan Rielly).
