• The Toronto Raptors (35-28) begin a six-game road trip (March 6-16) Sunday night against the Cleveland Cavaliers (36-27) at Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse. The Raptors are 2-4 since the All-Star break – Toronto played six games in eight days (Feb. 25 – Mar. 4) for the first time since March 10-17, 2012. Rookie Scottie Barnes is averaging team highs of 18.5 and 8.3 rebounds over the last six games. Sunday marks the third of four meetings between the two teams this season – Cleveland has won the first two games. The Raptors play five in a row against Western Conference opponents starting Tuesday at San Antonio.
• Pascal Siakam recorded his team-leading 20th double-double of the season with 34 points, one shy of his season-high, and 14 rebounds Mar. 4 vs. Orlando. Siakam shot 13-for-20 (.650) from the field against the Magic, while the rest of the team combined to shoot .329 (24-for-73). Siakam has now scored 30+ points eight times this season, something he did nine times in 56 games last season.
• All-Star Fred VanVleet has missed four straight games (Feb. 28 – Mar. 4) with right knee soreness. The Raptors are 5-6 without VanVleet in the lineup this season. VanVleet is averaging career highs of 21.4 points, 4.5 rebounds and 6.9 assists in 52 games this season, and ranks third in the NBA in three-pointers
made (208) – behind only Stephen Curry (265) and Buddy Hield (211) – despite missing 11 games.
• Scottie Barnes has scored 20+ points in three-of-six games since the All-Star break, including a season-high 28 points twice. Barnes has already scored 20-or-more in 13 games this season – the most by a Raptors rookie since Vince Carter scored 20+ in 23 games during the 1998-99 season.
• Malachi Flynn scored a season-high 20 points and tied a season best with eight assists Mar. 4 vs. Orlando. Flynn has started the last four games (Feb. 28 – Mar. 3) in place of Fred VanVleet, and is averaging
16.0 points, 5.5 assists, 4.0 rebounds and 35.6 minutes.
• Pascal Siakam is averaging 21.5 points, and career bests of 8.5 rebounds and 5.0 assists, in 50 games this season. Siakam is one of just seven players in the NBA averaging 20.0 points, 8.0 rebounds and 5.0 assists, along with Giannis Antetokounmpo, Luka Doncic, James Harden, LeBron James, Nikola Jokic, and
Dejounte Murray. No Raptor has averaged 20-8-5 over the course of an entire season.
• Precious Achiuwa has scored in double figures off the bench in four of the last six games (Feb. 25 – Mar. 3). He is averaging 13.8 points, 7.0 rebounds and is shooting .470 (31-66) from the field, including .444 (8-18) from three-point range, during this stretch. Achiuwa had consecutive 20-point games for the first time in his career with a season-high 21 points Feb. 26 at Atlanta and 20 points Feb. 28 at Brooklyn.
• Scottie Barnes was named Eastern Conference rookie of the month for February after averaging 15.2 points, 6.8 rebounds, 2.6 assists, 1.4 steals and 31.8 minutes in 12 games last month. Barnes is the 11th player in franchise history to earn the honour.
