BLUE JAYS NOTES:

• Earned their 10th one-run win of the season (10-3), the most one-run victories in the Majors…Avoided
the sweep, improving to 16-10 overall this season and 10-6 at Rogers Centre…Have won 10 of their last 15
games…Moved to 8-6 against the AL East, and 3-4 against New York this season.
YUSEI KIKUCHI picked up his 1st win as a Blue Jay, tossing 6.0 innings of one-run ball, surrendering three
hits and a walk while racking up seven strikeouts…Marked his 1st quality start of the season…Induced a
season-high 15 swing-and-misses…Blue Jays starters have notched 11 quality starts this season, the most
in the American League, trailing only the Padres for the most in the Majors (13).
MATT CHAPMAN opened the scoring with a solo home run in the 2nd, his 5th longball of the year…All five of
his homers this season have come at Rogers Centre…Has homered once in all five home series this year.
• BO BICHETTE doubled and scored in the 3rd, his 5th two-bagger of the year…All five of his doubles have
come against the Yankees, tied for the most against any single opponent this season in the Majors (Patrick
Wisdom – 5-2B vs. COL)…Also drew a walk in the 1st, finishing the game 1-for-3.
• VLADIMIR GUERRERO JR. drove in the eventual game-winning run with a single in the 3rd inning…In 13
games against AL East opponents this season, has gone 12-for-46 (.261) with four doubles, three home
runs, and seven RBI (.895 OPS).
• JORDAN ROMANO escaped a bases-loaded jam, pitching a scoreless 9th inning to preserve the win (1.0

YANKEES NOTES:
• Had their season-high 11 game winning streak snapped, slipping to 18-7 overall on the season…Are now 8-

NESTOR CORTES allowed two runs on four hits over 4.0 innings with four walks and three strikeouts…Has

• JOEY GALLO
