• The Toronto Raptors play the second game of a back-to-back set and first of a three-game road trip (Jan. 26-31) Wednesday night at Chicago. The Raptors have won two of their last three (Jan. 21-25) and are 8-5 in the month of January. Toronto will play 11 of their next 15 games (Jan. 26 – Feb. 28) on the road.
Gary Trent Jr. scored a season-best 32 points (11-21 FG, 5-10 3PT, 5-5 FT), including 14 in the third quarter, in Tuesday’s win over Charlotte. Trent Jr. scored 30+ points for the fifth time in his career, fourth since joining Toronto at the trade deadline last year and second time this season.
• With Fred VanVleet unavailable due to right knee soreness, Pascal Siakam started at point guard last night against the Hornets. Siakam tallied 24 points, a career high-tying 12 assists and nine assists. He had
19 points, eight assists and seven rebounds in the first half, becoming the first player in franchise history to record 15+ points, 7+ assists and 7+ rebounds in a half.
Chris Boucher finished with 12 points, seven rebounds and two blocks in 30 minutes of action Jan. 25 vs. Charlotte. Boucher has now scored in double figures in a career high-tying eight straight games (Jan. 11-
25), averaging 13.6 points and 9.3 rebounds. He is shooting .493 (37-75) from the field and .452 (14-31) from three-point distance during this stretch.
Pascal Siakam is currently averaging 21.3 points, and career highs of 8.3 rebounds and 5.1 assists. He is one of just five players in the NBA averaging 20.0 points, 8.0 rebounds and 5.0 assists this season, along
with Giannis Antetokounmpo, Luka Doncic, James Harden, and Nikola Jokic.
Fred VanVleet is averaging career highs of 21.7 points, 7.0 assists and 4.7 rebounds. He leads the NBA in minutes per game (38.2), and ranks second in total deflections (157) and fifth in steals (71). VanVleet has
led the league in deflections per game each of the past two seasons. The Raptors currently lead the NBA in deflections per game (18.0) and rank third in steals (9.2).
• Rookie Scottie Barnes ranks second among rookies in rebounds (7.8), and fourth in both points (14.6) and assists (3.4). Barnes leads all rookies with three games of 20+ points and 10+ rebounds.
• The Raptors rank second in the NBA in both offensive rebounds per game (13.4) and second-chance points (16.7). Through 13 games in January, Toronto has outrebounded opponents 189-to-128 (+61) on
the offensive end. Chris Boucher has grabbed a team-high 39 offensive boards this month.
Pascal Siakam has scored 20+ points in four games and eight of the nine (Jan. 9-23). He is averaging a team-high 23.9 points over the last nine games. Siakam is shooting .491 (83-169) from the field and .375
(9-24) from three-point range during this stretch. Siakam has scored 20+ points in a career-high five consecutive games twice (Last: Apr. 13-26, 2021).
