“I had no issues with our game today. There are things every game that you want to do better but for the most part I liked a lot about our game today. I thought we controlled the play for most of the game and the
only thing we needed to do was score at 5-on-5. We had a lot of chances, their goaltender was good but we didn’t finish on those opportunities so I think that is something we would want to do better of course but our penalty killing was good when it needed to be, our powerplay was outstanding. Lots of good
things to take away from the game today.”

“Five-on-five, I thought we did create some chances but we’d like to leave this game with a five-on-five goal at even strength. I thought we did a lot of good things, at the same time we talked about challenging the goalie and I think we could have done a better job even-strength wise but power play was working,
puck moving fast, we had guys locked in and getting into spots quickly and we’re really pushing up pucks just getting to the net, having guys there and when we didn’t score getting the puck back quickly in our
hands and getting another quick strike to the net.”
On Jack Campbell’s game tonight:
“He was great. He’s great most nights. He just takes a lot of pressure on himself like a lot of us do and blames himself for some of the stuff that he should never blame himself for. We’re very fortunate to have him in our net. He’s done a lot of great things this year and it’s always a lot of fun to be on the ice
competing with him because he’s such a competitor.”

“I thought we were really good on special teams. I think we played pretty well … we created lots of chances, had really good opportunities, their goalie played well. All in all, I think it was a pretty solid game. Obviously, we would like to keep it in regulation but solid work by the group to get the extra point.”

On tonight’s game:
“I think the game as a whole we liked the way we played. I don’t think we really gave them a whole lot. Obviously special teams was huge tonight. I think for our power play though, we leave with a bitter taste in our mouth just giving up that goal. Things were working really well we had good pressure again trying
to find another one and I think we were really in sync and in rhythm and reading really well off another and then obviously we give that one up. Even though I think we played well five-on-five throughout the
whole game, obviously we leave it up to one chance and they end up finding a way to get one in the third. I know for us, we have to find a way to make sure we’re just detailed all the way through. Not taking our foot off the gas and understanding the circumstances of the game but overall obviously it was really
strong, we had a huge impact on the game. We had plenty of chances, we hit a bunch of posts, we had some really good looks all three periods and in the overtime. I think a lot more better things to build upon.
Obviously we want to clean up areas we think we can be better in but I think we made some good strides over the last couples days and had a good effort tonight. Good to get rewarded even though not typically
how we wanted to finish it.”
