• Gary Trent Jr. match a season-high with 33 points (11-20 FG, 6-10 3PT, 5-8 FT) in Tuesday’s win vs. Miami. Trent Jr. has now scored 30+ points in a career-best five straight games (Jan. 25-31), tying the franchise record set by DeMar DeRozan (Oct. 26 – Nov. 4, 2016). Trent Jr. is averaging 32.2 points and

Toronto will have two players in the showcase event for the first time since Andrea Bargnani and Jamario Moon in 2008.
• Pascal Siakam finished with 16 points and 14 rebounds Tuesday against the Heat for his team-leading 14th double-double of the season. Siakam is currently averaging 21.0 points, and career highs of 8.5 rebounds and 5.1 assists. He is one of just five players in the NBA averaging 20.0 points, 8.0 rebounds and

VanVleet ranks second in the NBA in total deflections (174). VanVleet has led the league in deflections per game each of the past two seasons.
• The Raptors currently rank second in the NBA in both offensive rebounds (13.2) and second-chance points (16.4). Scottie Barnes has grabbed a team-high 110 offensive rebounds this season (first among rookies) the most by a Raptors rookie since Jonas Valanciunas (121) in 2012-13. Fred VanVleet leads Toronto

NOTE-A-BULL FOR TONIGHT
At 32-18 (.640), the Bulls own the best record in the East. Before this current
campaign, the last time the Bulls were 32-18 was January 20, 1974.
DeMAR DeROZAN and ZACH LaVINE have scored 20+ points in the same
game an NBA-best 27 times.
Tonight is the first of a back-to-back for Chicago. All-in-all the Bulls have 17
back-to-backs this season. So far they’ve won eight of 10 openers and six
closers.
TEAM NOTE-A-BULLS
This season the Bulls are 18-1 (.947) when its bench outscores their
counterparts. They are also 16-2 (.889) when they shoot 50% or better from
the floor, and 21-3 (.875) when they hand out more assists.
Chicago has hit the 130-point mark an NBA-best seven times this season.
The Bulls have also posted 70+ points by halftime five times this season.
Last year, they were only able to accomplish this twice in 72 games.
The Bulls have shot .500 or better from the field an NBA-best 18 times this
season.
The Bulls have also shot .500 or better from the field and .400 or better from
three in the same game an NBA-leading 15 times this season.
The Bulls have also dished 30+ helpers 13 times, tying them with Charlotte
for 4th most in the league.
Chicago’s 46-point drubbing (133-87) of the Detroit Pistons (1/11) was not only its 10th straight win over a longtime rival, it also marked the franchise’s
largest margin of victory since February, 22, 1991 when the Bulls stampeded past the Sacramento Kings, 129-82 (47 points).
The 133-points scored vs. Detriot (1/11) was the third time time this season the Bulls have torched the twine for that many points. Chicago last scored 133
points three times in a season in 1990-91.
The Bulls also tied a season-high with 18 treys (18-of-34 .529) vs. Detroit (1/11). Chicago had earlier knocked down 18 from long distance at Atlanta (12/27).
The Bulls definitely weren’t done rewriting the (season) record book after the opening 24 minutes against the Hawks (12/29), as the team went on to record
season-bests in shooting (52-of-84 .619 FG%) and assists 38, a total that hadn’t been reached since Dec. 2, 2014, in a double-overtime game vs. Dallas.
Also against Atlanta (12/29), all 12 active Bulls players saw the floor and scored, with seven notching double figures, and two posting double-doubles (Nikola
Vučević – 16 points/20 rebounds and Coby White – 17 points/12 assists).
PLAYER NOTE-A-BULLS
NIKOLA VUČEVIĆ notched his 27th double-double of the season vs. Orlando (2/1) with 18 points and 13 rebounds. That ties him with Giannis
Antetokounmpo for the 6th-most double-doubles in the NBA this season. Vučević has been on a roll of late, recording double-doubles (points/rebounds) in
eight of his last nine games.
AYO DOSUNMU shot a perfect 9-of-9 from the field to start the game at Oklahoma City (1/24), establishing a new Bulls rookie record. ORLANDO
WOOLRIDGE held the previous mark by shooting 8-of-8 at Indiana (1/17/82) during his first season. Dosunmu finished the night with 24 points on 10-of-14
shooting, including 4-of-6 from beyond the 3-point arc.
DeMAR DeROZAN posted a season-high 41 points at Orlando (1/23) on 15-of-21 shooting (.714) from the field – his highest shooting percentage when
scoring 40+ points. It was also his third straight game of scoring 30+ points.
DOSUNMU became the first rookie in NBA history to record 20+ points and 10 assists while shooting 90% (9-of-10, including 3-of-3 from beyond the arc)
from the floor in a game at Boston (1/15). It was his third career start, and he finished with 21 points, 10 assists and four rebounds.
DOSUNMU backed up his historic night in Boston (1/15) with a second consecutive double-double at Memphis (1/17), posting 15 points and 10 rebounds,
while also bagging four steals against the Grizzlies. He’s the first Bulls rookie to record back-to-back double-doubles since ELTON BRAND in April, 2000.
DeMAR DeROZAN became the first player in NBA history to hit game-winning buzzer-beaters on back-to-back days with clutch 3-pointers at Indiana (12/31)
and at Washington (1/1). Only one other player in NBA history (Boston Hall of Famer LARRY BIRD) hit back-to-back game-winning buzzer-beaters before,
but Bird’s occurred over three days (Jan. 27 and Jan. 29, 1985). (Basketball-Reference)
DeMAR DeROZAN (35 points, 10 assists) and ZACH LaVINE (30 points, nine assists) became the second pair of Bulls teammates to post 30+ points and
hand out 9+ assists in the same game (at Atlanta 12/27) since MICHAEL JORDAN (37 points, nine assists) and SCOTTIE PIPPEN (35 points, nine assists)
at Boston on March 31, 1991. (NBA History).
DeROZAN (38x) and LaVINE (37x) are two of only six players in the league (and the only teammates) to score 20+-points 37 times this season, and in the
same game an NBA-best 27 times. DeROZAN (13x) and LaVINE (12x) are also the only teammates to score 30+-points at least a dozen times this season.
When it comes to scoring down the stretch, Chicago’s Dynamic Duo are two of the best in the business. DeROZAN ranks 2nd overall in 4th-quarter scoring
with 337 points while LaVINE is 12th with 233 points.
DeROZAN ranks 6th in scoring with an average of 26.5 points. Only eight times has he failed to post 20+-points, but he’s scored in double-figures in every
appearance (46) this season.
LaVINE ranks 14th in in scoring with an average of 24.9 points per game. He has failed to score 20+-points only six times this season.

again this season. DeMAR DeROZAN, ZACH LaVINE and NIKOLA VUČEVIĆ are playing some of the best basketball in the East
at their positions, and AYO DOSUNMU is making his presence known among his rookie class as a Rising Star. DeROZAN was
named a starter in the All-Star Game on Jan. 27 for the third time in his career. It’s his first All-Star nod as a member of the Bulls,
but his fifth selection overall.

    POSTGAME QUOTES:
    HEAD COACH SHELDON KEEFE
    On the team’s comeback win:
“Our best people made big time plays in the third period but the most important thing was to stop the bleeding defensively. That’s really what we needed to do. I felt pretty confident that we’d be able to score
at least two in that period which was what we talked about. We wouldn’t be able to catch up if we didn’t stop the bleeding defensively so I thought we played better that way and then our best players made big time plays and put the pressure on Detroit and didn’t let up so it was a great win for us. It wasn’t a great game for us but a great win no doubt.
    On changing the lines mid-game:
“We were just trailing in the game so not necessarily playing for control of the game anymore. We were playing to catch up in the game so needed to shorten the bench a little bit, needed to change the lines a little bit, so that’s really what I was going for there.”
    MICHAEL BUNTING
On tonight’s game and the third period comeback:

“We knew going into the third period that if we were able to get the first goal of the period that we would have a good chance of winning this game and build that momentum on. We believed in there, and we knew were having our chances it just wasn’t going in for us and then fortunately they started going in in the third.
On what he’ll remember about his first hat trick as a Maple Leaf:
“Just the whole night. It was a fun night to be apart of, the comeback and then getting the win makes it even sweeter to be able to get a hat trick tonight. (Matthews) and Mitch played great tonight and they were a lot of fun to play with again and they made great plays. On that third goal, Mitch had me right
before that and I missed it and then he gave me a second chance to put it in so it was a lot of fun and that second goal was a great funnel by (Matthews) and I was able to just tip it in so it went good.”
    RASMUS SANDIN
On his first goal of the season:

“I was just shrinking down a little bit, we had the puck pretty low there. John made a terrific pass. I had a lot of thoughts going on in my head there. I had a pretty similar situation in LA and I missed that one so I’m very happy this one went in and as I said that’s John’s goal for sure and he made a terrific pass.”
    On Michael Bunting:
“Off the ice he’s such a fun guy to be around. On the ice, he scored a bunch of times today and he crashed into the boards there at the end too so you never know what to expect from him. He can start a fight, he can do everything so he’s a great addition to our team and we all love having him out here and
    playing with him.”
    PETR MRÁZEK
    On the team’s comeback win:

“We did a great job in the third period, we came really hard and put a clinic on out there so I’m glad we got the win today.”
On regrouping after the first period:
“You just need to stay focused and try to stay positive and do the little things right. Take it save-by-save and sometimes the first two periods aren’t great but after the second period we just talked about it and we
were going to come strong and we did

20 points or more in five straight games, which began on Jan. 12, including a five-game streak with 20+ points from Oct. 22-29, 2021. During the five-game stretch, Bridges is averaged 24.6 and 8.8

ELITE ON THE CATCH-AND-SHOOT: Hornets guard Terry Rozier has been excellent since Dec. 20, scoring 20+ points in 10 of the 15 games he has appeared in over that stretch, averaging 21.7 points,
5.2 rebounds and 5.1 assists per game. Rozier scored 24 points vs. Oklahoma City on Jan. 21 after he totaled 28 points to go with a season-high 10 assists at Boston on Jan. 19 for his first double-double

which ranks 18th in the NBA, through just 45 games as the most points he scored in a season previously was 843 points during the 2018-19 season.
Bridges’ high scoring average increase is from a multitude of high scoring outings this season, including seven 30-point games and 24 20-point

with 25 points or more from Oct. 22-27, a new career long streak and scored 30 or more points in three of the first five games and in five of his first 20 games the Hornets played this season. He is the only
player in franchise history with 30+ points three times in his first five games and the team’s first five games of a season. After scoring 32 points at Golden State on Nov. 3, Bridges’ 25-point streak earlier this
season is the longest by a Hornets player since Terry Rozier (2/10-2/20/21) as the fourth-year pro out of Michigan State only had eight games with 25 points or better before the start of the 2021-22 season.
ANOTHER DAY AT THE OFFICE: Hornets guard LaMelo Ball posted 15 points, 10 rebounds and 10 assists at Boston on Jan. 19 for his third triple-double of the season and fourth of his career. Ball

James. In franchise history, Ball is tied with Anthony Mason (1999-00) for the second most triple-doubles in a single season and ranks fourth overall in triple-doubles with four, trailing only Mason (7),

games this season with 13+ assists, which is tied for the sixth most in the NBA as he has the most games with 13 or more assists by a Hornets player since Brevin Knight (13) during the 2005-06 season.

the Knicks on Jan. 17. Bridges also added 12 rebounds and five assists to his stat line to become just the fourth player in the last 30 seasons to post at least 35 points, 10 rebounds and five assists against
New York at Madison Square Garden, joining Kevin Durant (1/26/16), Kobe Bryant (12/23/07) and Hakeem Olajuwon (12/02/93). He is also just fourth player in franchise history with 35-10-5 in a game

Bridges got the ball rolling with a 22-point first quarter on 7-of-8 shooting, including three 3-pointers, setting a career-high for points in a quarter and the most points in an opening quarter for the franchise
since the 1996-97 season when play-by-play data first became available. He ended the first half with 28 points and became just the fourth Hornets player in the last 25 seasons in with 28+ points in the

10 boards making him just one of six players this season with multiple games with 35 points and 10 rebounds.
ANOTHER HORNETS MILESTONE: After climbing his way into the top 10 among Hornets 3-point field goals franchise leaders and finishing with the fifth most made 3s in a single season (222)
during the 2021-22, Hornets guard Terry Rozier knocked down four 3s at New York on Jan. 17 to eclipse Nic Batum (496) for fifth all time in 3-pointers in Hornets franchise history. He also made six 3s at

games or less as he is just the fifth player in franchise history with five or more 30-point performances through the team’s first 20 games of a season.

    POSTGAME QUOTES:
    HEAD COACH SHELDON KEEFE

On the play of the defencemen and goaltender Petr Mrázek during tonight’s game:
“I thought it was a good effort by all of our defence tonight and our goaltender. I liked a lot of what our whole lineup did. Each line I think gave us good shifts and good efforts, loved our second period and how we took care of that. We took the 3-1 lead and I thought we were really good and in full control of the
second half of that second period that was really good. The third period wasn’t perfect in terms of us controlling the play, we’d like to spend more time in their half of the ice like we did in the second. But I thought it was progress and I thought we defended really well. We didn’t give any clean looks really at our
net at all and Petr was strong with anything that they threw at him.”
    On Mitch Marner’s play:
“He’s an important player for us so having him back makes us a far deeper team, everybody else just slots in a lot better. He obviously plays a lot of minutes, important minutes for us. Huge goal through the
penalty kill, to get a shorthanded goal like that, and to get it to go in, that’s big for him. Those special teams goals are really important. Obviously, we had our power plays early on and didn’t convert and then they get their chance on their power play and we have to get a kill there. Not only do we get the kill but we
get a goal so to be a plus one on special teams no matter how you get it done is important and Mitch contributes so much in that area.”
    JOHN TAVARES
On closing out the road trip with a win
    :
“Yeah, nice to be able to finish off the way we did. Like I said, I still think we feel we have a lot more to our game and we can get back to some of the rhythm we had at different points in the year already but no
doubt, we just have to keep staying at it and tonight we did some really good things. Great response when they tied it 1-1, big goal by Pierre and grabbed the momentum and the life back and we seemed to just keep it rolling from there and had a really good second period.”
    On Morgan Rielly’s game tonight:
“Yeah, (Morgan Rielly) was excellent for us, as he is most nights. Just a catalyst for us, not just on our back end, but just for our team in general just such a great player, one of the best defenceman I’ve played with. Even as good as he is, and as much recognition as he gets, I still think he’s looked upon as a little bit underrated. He just does so much for us in so many different areas and was great tonight.”
    MORGAN RIELLY
On tonight’s game and holding onto the early lead:

“Yeah obviously that has been an important area for us over the past few weeks. I think if you look back at the start of the game, I think there were plenty of good things as there has been lately. You know we jumped out to a lead, and they score, then we were able to respond, that’s a great sign. Then to go into
the third with a two-goal lead and like you said just play well enough to hang onto it, it’s good. That’s what we want to do every night and obviously hasn’t been going that way as of late but by no means was there panic within the dressing room about that trend so tonight was a good example of us playing well. I thought Petr played really well and a huge two points for us.”
    On his goal:

“I thought (Brodie) was going to score a highlight-reel goal. Then the goalie made good play. Just came out around the side then obviously just a good pass from (William Nylander) and you know when that happened you just have to finish it so just about everyone else on the ice did that work on that one.”
    MITCH MARNER
On tonight’s game and Petr Mrázek’s play:

“I think in the game we did what we wanted to. I think in the third it got a little bit away from us there, but obviously just maintained that lead and keep the pressure on. (Mrázek) made a couple huge saves for us as well. He’s worked extremely hard since his injury to get back and it’s nice to see him come out here and play with that confidence and swagger and help us to win.”
On how he feels about his good play as of late:
“Obviously good. Just want to make sure I keep trying to do the things I can to help this team to win games. Whether it’s on the kill, power play or even strength. Great play by (Morgan Rielly) there to pressure up zone and put that out into an area for me to skate onto it.”
    PETR MRÁZEK
    On his play tonight:

“I felt good there. I saw a lot of pucks in the third period. The guys did a great job in front of me. I could see the puck well and they made the work easier.”
On how the team’s play helped him:
“Well they boxed out really well. I could the puck from the blueline. They gave me the first shot and if there was a rebound, they cleared the puck out, so they did a great job in front of me today.”

POSTGAME QUOTES

HEAD COACH GREG MOORE

On tonight’s game:

I thought throughout the entire game the effort was better. It was a good response from yesterday’s game. This team that we’re playing is really hard working. They don’t make it easy to gain inches of the ice and gain zones. It was a good start. Overall, a more consistent 60 minutes which is what we’ve been looking for. During that stretch of games where we had more success in the win column, this is more of what we looked like and how we were playing. It’s definitely not the result we want, especially having the lead but in terms of the effort and how we played, it was in a much better place.

On Michael Hutchinson:

He did a great job, especially against a team that’s a volume shooting team. He definitely kept us in there, gave us a chance to win the game. It’s really, really hard with the dynamic now of taxi squads and the COVID season to expect these guys to come in, not having played that long and also knowing tat they’d do anything for the organization given the position that they are in. Good on him for coming in today and putting in a good effort.

JOSEPH BLANDISI (1 ASSIST)

On tonight’s game:

We were upset coming into this one tonight. I think we came out pretty hard but it’s one of those games that we got to find a way to hold the lead. It’s on the veteran guys on the ice at the end of the game – myself included I’ve got to get the block there.

• The Toronto Raptors finish a five-game road trip (Jan. 14-21) Friday night against the Washington Wizards at Capital One Arena. The Raptors have lost four of their five games following a six-game winning streak –
their longest of the season. Toronto is 6-4 in the month of January. The Raptors have won five in a row at Washington and have taken two of the first three meetings with the Wizards this season.
Pascal Siakam finished a team-high 20 points (7-18 FG, 6-8 FT), eight rebounds, three assists and three steals in a career high-tying 44 minutes Jan. 19 at Dallas. Siakam has now scored 20+ points in five of the
last six games (Jan. 9-19), averaging 23.7 points. He is shooting .457 (53-116) from the field, .368 (7-19)
from beyond the arc and .725 (29-40) at the free throw line during this stretch.
Pascal Siakam is currently averaging 21.0 points, and career highs of 8.3 rebounds and 4.9 assists. He is one of just six players in the NBA averaging 20.0 points, 8.0 rebounds and 4.0 assists this season, along with Giannis Antetokounmpo, Luka Doncic, Joel Embiid, James Harden and Nikola Jokic.
Chris Boucher recorded his second straight double-double (Jan. 17-19), and fifth of the season, with 15 points and 12 rebounds in 34 minutes off the bench Jan. 19 at Dallas. Boucher has scored in double figures in each of the last five games (Jan. 11-19). He is averaging 15.2 points and shooting .473 (26-55)
from the floor, including 35 percent (7-20) from three-point range, during this span.
• Fred VanVleet leads the NBA in minutes per game (38.1) this season. VanVleet has logged 40+ minutes in 12 games, including each of the last five (Jan. 11-19) – the longest streak in the NBA this season.
VanVleet is the first Raptor since Chris Bosh (Nov. 9-18, 2008) to play 40+ points in five straight games.
• Fred VanVleet (3.8) and Gary Trent Jr. (3.5) currently rank second and fourth, respectively, in the NBA in deflections per game. VanVleet has led the NBA in deflections per game each of the past two seasons,
while Trent Jr. also ranks fourth in the league in steals (1.91). The Raptors lead the NBA in deflections per
game (18.2) this season and rank third in steals (9.1).
• The Raptors lead the NBA in offensive rebounds per game (13.6) and rank second (16.9) in second-chance points. Through 10 games in January, Toronto has outrebounded opponents 156-to-98 (+58) on
the offensive end. Chris Boucher (34) is sixth in the NBA in offensive rebounds this month, while Scottie Barnes leads the Raptors – and all rookies – with 98 offensive boards this season.
Yuta Watanabe and Wizards forward Rui Hachimura are both expected to be in the lineup for the first time since they made history as the first pair of Japanese players to share an NBA court when Watanabe, then
a member of the Memphis Grizzlies, visited Washington on Dec. 14, 2019. Watanabe and Hachimura were
teammates last summer as part of Japan’s Olympic roster.

GAME 3 – OCTOBER 23, 2021
DALLAS 103, TORONTO 95

TORONTO – The one-two punch of Dallas Maverick guards Luka Doncic
and Tim Hardaway Jr. delivered a second-half knockout blow to the Toronto Raptors … After a slow start, Doncic and Hardaway heated up in the
third and fourth quarters to finish with 27 and 25 points, respectively, in
the Mavericks 103-95 victory before a sellout gathering of 19,800 at Scotiabank Arena … It was the Mavericks’ (1-1) first win of the season, while
Toronto (1-2) could not build on its first win in Boston against the Celtics
the night before … The Mavericks trailed by as much as 14 points early.
But before the third quarter hit the midway point, Dallas had tied the game
62-62 thanks to a couple of three-point jumpers from Hardaway … Canadian forward Dwight Powell then gave the Mavericks the lead for the first
time on a nifty pass from guard Doncic … Doncic nailed a three-pointer on
Dallas’s next trip down the floor for a 67-62 lead. At the end of the third
quarter, a brilliant alley-oop play from Fred VanVleet to Precious Achiuwa
pulled the Raptors to within 74-72 … VanVleet finished with 20 points.

    POSTGAME QUOTES:
    HEAD COACH SHELDON KEEFE

On the emotions of tonight’s game:
“A little bit crazy. You know, it’s just in the way it works out – a game like this – which kind of sums up the way the road trip went for us but obviously thrilled the way it worked out. Each time, when we needed to push back and respond, we did. Whether it was after the first goal of the game, whether it was after giving up the lead and getting it back, or in the third period there having to get a key goal on the power play and then grinding it out in the end, it was good to see for our guys. This is an important win for us going home.”
    On Liljegren’s first NHL goal:
“It’s huge and we’re happy for him. It’s interesting you say I’ve been with him so long. I’ve been with him so long that I had to be reminded that it was his first goal. It feels like he’s been here a while and I’ve certainly seen him score but I guess that was just as the AHL level. I wasn’t really aware that it was his
first one, but it certainly was a great one and we’re thrilled for him. I thought he played a great game today. He moved the puck really well, helped us on the breakout, got us out of trouble sometimes and, at times, got himself into trouble but then bailed himself out. It was great for him and huge to see him get
    rewarded.”
On Marner’s return to the lineup:
“I thought he was great tonight. For a guy who hasn’t played in a while and just had the one team practice
on this trip, he had good legs. Whether it was his goal or the big-time pass he makes on Matthews’ power
play goal to tie the game. That’s what Mitch does. He’s a game-breaker like that. It was certainly nice to
have him back in the mix here tonight.”
    AUSTON MATTHEWS
    On tonight’s game:

“Tough one and fun. I think you kind of hit it right on the head, just back-and-forth and up-and-down a bit of rollercoaster but we found a way to win and we’re going home with two points which is all that matters.”
On Marner’s return to the lineup:

“Well anytime he’s in the lineup he’s going to give you a lot of looks. He’s a world class player and he just
finds a way out there. He makes plays, he’s sees the ice really well and he’s extremely dynamic so we’re a better hockey team when he’s playing so we’re happy to have him back.”
    MITCH MARNER
On his return to the lineup after missing the last three games:

“Coming in yesterday, it was just great being back with the guys. Especially with the injury and then the COVID situation, I didn’t really get to see the guys for two months or something like that so just being back with the guys brings me a lot of energy and a lot of joy. Obviously tonight, I just wanted to come in
and keep it simple. If I had plays to be made, then try them, but obviously it feels nice to come back and contribute and help this team win.”
    On tonight’s win:
“It was crazy. A rollercoaster ride. Obviously, that’s not the kind of game we want to play but I think we did a great job of staying with it, making sure we’re doing the right things no matter if we gave up the lead, they took it or anything like that, we just kept fighting back. Obviously, our power play wasn’t doing what we needed it to do tonight but that’s a big goal when we needed it. It’s a gritty win. We wanted to finish the trip off right and I think we’re all happy with how we finished this game.”
    TIMOTHY LILJEGREN
    On his first NHL goal:

“I think we moved the puck well there in the o-zone and [Dermott] got the puck and I was open, got the pass and just thought I’d give it a go. I actually didn’t see the puck go in myself so I was kind of hesitant to
celebrate there at first but it was nice.”
On assessing his game with increased ice time tonight:
“I don’t know. I felt kind of good out there. Obviously, I was on the ice for three goals in our net so the play in front of our net was not good enough today, especially from my side. I think all of the goals they scored
when I was in was in front of the net so just not good enough. Other than that, I thought it was better than last game for my part.”
    ILYA MIKHEYEV
    On his improvement this season:

“Just trying to help the team be better because we want to have progress ever game and step-by-step I just feel more confident now.”
