RAPTORS 905 DEFEAT KNICKS IN SEASON OPENER
Raptors 905 (1-0), NBA G League affiliate of the Toronto Raptors defeated the Westchester Knicks (0-3) 119-95 Thursday evening.
In the first home game since Mar. 11, 2020, the 905 controlled the game from the beginning, outscoring the Knicks 31-17 in the first quarter to take the lead and never looked back. The team received a balanced scoring effort with six players scoring in double digits, led by Andrew Rowsey who posted a game-high 22 points in 30 minutes off the bench. Toronto Raptors assignee Isaac Bonga followed with 21 points, nine rebounds and five assists, while Raptors two-way player, David Johnson scored 19 points in the contest.
The Knicks were led by Brandon Williams’ 17 points, five rebounds and five assists while Aamir Simms and Tyler Hall put up 14 points apiece. M.J Walker added 15 points in 34 minutes shooting .500 from the field.
The two teams meet again Friday night to complete their back-to-back, tip-off scheduled for 7:30 pm.
