    POSTGAME QUOTES:
    HEAD COACH SHELDON KEEFE
    On tonight’s game:
“We got some really good opportunities in the third period and made good on them. Did some good things
leading to the Matthews goal. We didn’t win many shifts today but that was one that we did a good job of.
Had the puck, had them really running and it leads to an empty net so those kind of things we capitalized
on really well. That Rielly goal was similar, but yeah not a very good hockey game by us.”
On Campbell’s first game back since injury:
“He just looked like Jack. I loved the way he played tonight. That first period especially, the first 10
minutes or so was a disaster by us in front of him. That save he made early in the game, those kind of
things, that’s Jack at his best so really good to see him and great to have him back.”
    AUSTON MATTHEWS
    On tonight’s effort:
“I just think we were a little bit flat coming out. We couldn’t really establish much in their zone, I think just
a lot of quick in and outs. I thought halfway through the second we got a little more life going and
obviously in the third I think we just took over. It definitely wasn’t a pretty one, especially those first two
periods but I think just sticking with it and sometimes you’ve just got to grind these games out when the
offence isn’t clicking on all cylinders so I thought we got it together in the third and put a couple goals in
and gave ourselves some insurance. I definitely think those first two periods we’d like to clean up.”
On Campbell’s first game back since injury:
“I thought he looked great. He looked really comfortable in there, looked really confident, he looked like
Soup. It’s been a bit of a rough road the last couple weeks or months with coming back from his injury but
he’s put in a lot of work into it obviously and everyone knows how hard he works and how much he cares
and wants to compete for us every night. I thought he looked really good tonight and that’s just a really
positive thing moving forward for us as a team and him individually.”
    WAYNE SIMMONDS
On his goal and tonight’s win:
“It was nice to obviously chip in and help out in the cause. Obviously the most important thing was we got
the two points so it was good.”
    On his breakaway goal:
“Yeah it was a really good feed from TJ. I actually had one right before but I’m happy I didn’t catch it
because I think we would have had too many men on the ice but we were given another shot and
honestly Blackwell told me it was the ugliest breakaway move he’s ever seen and I don’t think he’s
    wrong.”
    JACK CAMPBELL
    On tonight’s win:
“Great win by the guys, they’ve been playing great and watching them the past month and just wanted to
get back in there and get back to stopping pucks and having fun. The boys played amazing in front of me
and get a big two points.”
    On coming back from injury:
“I definitely felt like myself, just having fun and competing and playing my game. There are some details
that I want to clean up but I really liked the game from the boys in front of me and I liked my game and
just going to keep building from it.

NOTES OF THE NIGHT
The Flyers come into today’s game riding a five-game home unbeaten streak, having gone 4-0-1 dating back to March 5. The Flyers have seven home
games remaining including tonight.
Ronnie Attard is expected to become the third Flyer to make his NHL debut in a little over a week, joining Hayden Hodgson (3/24) and Noah Cates
(3/29). Attard was a third-round pick (72nd overall) in the 2019 NHL Entry Draft and signed a two-year entry-level contract on Tuesday following the
conclusion of his third season at Western Michigan University. Attard posted 13 goals and 23 assists for 36 points in 39 games this season to lead the
Broncos to a berth in the NCAA tournament and the first NCAA tournament win in school history. Western Michigan finished with a record of 26-12-1, the
most wins in program history.
Hayden Hodgson had a goal and an assist last Thursday night in his NHL debut in St. Louis and followed that up with six shots on goal Friday night in
Colorado, while playing more than 16 minutes in each game. On Sunday in Nashville, he played 13:53 while registering his first NHL fight. Per NHL
Stats, Hodgson became just the eighth player in franchise history to record a multi-point game in his NHL debut that included at least one goal, and the
first to do so since David Laliberte in 2009. The full list is below:
Travis Konecny had a four-game scoring streak come to an end Tuesday in Minnesota. Konecny’s streak included three consecutive multi-point
games, one of two goals and the others of two assists each. Per NHL Stats, Konecny became the second Flyer to have three straight multi-point games
this season after Joel Farabee did it in the first three games of the year.
Konecny has at least a point in 21 of his last 30 games dating back to January 15, posting a total of seven goals and 17 assists for 24 points in that
stretch. It included a career-high seven-game scoring streak (1G, 6A) from Jan. 29 – Feb. 22. He has 33 points in 43 games since the Flyers’ coaching
change on December 5 for an average of 0.77 points per game after posting 10 points in the first 21 games of the year (0.47 PPG). Konecny’s 31 assists
on the season lead the Flyers and are just six off his career high of 37 set in 66 games during the shortened 2019-20 season, when he was an NHL AllStar.
Joel Farabee has 11 goals and 14 assists for 25 points in his last 32 games dating back to November 24, a period of time which included him missing a
total of 18 games with upper-body injuries. He has four goals and 10 assists for 14 points in 16 games since returning to the lineup on February 26. He
has points in seven of his last nine games, three of which were two-point contests, and he has a total of four goals and six assists for 10 points in that
most recent nine-game run.
Rasmus Ristolainen has 214 hits on the season, which leads the Flyers and is third among NHL defensemen. The total is 77 more than anyone else on
the roster despite missing seven games. Ristolainen has at least one hit in 27 consecutive games and in 58 of the 60 games he has played this season.
He had six hits and six blocked shots March 8 vs. Vegas, becoming the first Flyer to accomplish that feat since Radko Gudas in November 2016 and just
the fifth Flyer to do so since the league started tracking the stats in 2005-06. He followed that up with seven hits and five blocks March 13 vs. Montreal.
Cam Atkinson leads the Flyers in scoring with 50 points (23G, 27A). He’s posted 30 points in his last 35 games. Atkinson leads the team in evenstrength points with 42 and in shots on goal with 203. His six game-winning goals also lead the team, as do his three shorthanded goals on the season;
he is one of 11 players in the NHL to have three or more and is just the second Flyer to have that many since the 2013-14 season, joining Kevin Hayes’
four SHG in 2019-20. Seventeen of Atkinson’s 23 goals this season have come on home ice. Atkinson posted five goals and 10 assists for 15 points
over 13 games in the month of January, which was seven points more than anyone else on the roster.
Keith Yandle became the NHL’s all-time ironman on Jan. 25 when he played his 965th consecutive game in the Flyers’ visit to the New York Islanders.
Yandle’s streak, which reached 989 on Tuesday, dates back 13 years ago yesterday to March 26, 2009 and has included time with Phoenix/Arizona, the
New York Rangers, Florida, and now the Flyers. Tonight is slated to be Yandle’s 1100th career game.

POSTGAME QUOTES

HEAD COACH GREG MOORE

On tonight’s game:

In the first period, a couple of penalties we can’t take, especially against a team like this which analytically is one of the best teams in the league. Really strong defensively for how little they give up, how much offence they can generate and how many pucks they get toward the net. To put ourselves down and have to burn through so much energy in our penalty killers, that was a tough way to start the game. The penalty kill did a good job through that. We were hoping to gain some momentum off of that but they just ultimately made it really hard for us to find our way out of our zone and set up in the offensive zone.

BOBBY McMANN

On penalties affecting the flow of the first period:
[Penalties] definitely disrupt the flow of the game but you can’t use that as an excuse. We weren’t ready to play and they jumped on us and we were trying to fight back the whole game.

On the uncharacteristic loss:

It definitely hurts because we’re not used to it. We don’t consider this acceptable. This is something that we’re going to internalize and be ready to go for our next one.

    POSTGAME QUOTES:
    HEAD COACH SHELDON KEEFE
On Auston Matthews scoring 50 goals:

“It was fun. The fans enjoyed it. It made for a great atmosphere there in the third period. They were
encouraging him and pushing Auston and I thought it was great. Good to see the fans have that moment
and Auston to have that accomplishment here on home ice, it was great.”
    AUSTON MATTHEWS
On if he thought scoring 50 might not happen tonight:
“I don’t know, I just keep playing and keep shooting and obviously I had some good looks but not sure if I
ever envisioned it being an empty net goal but I’ll take it, a goal’s a goal. Like you said, I had some good
chances tonight just wasn’t going in and fortunately it did in the last minute.”
On the reception he received from his teammates after the game:
“Wet. I got pretty soaked, lots of water and stuff but it’s awesome. The love and support from all these
guys, we’ve got an extremely close group. This obviously doesn’t happen without all these guys on this
team so it means a lot.”
    MARK GIORDANO
On Auston Matthews scoring 50 goals:

“Pretty cool, I think watching him on tv over the years and playing against him is one thing but when you
get to see him every day, day-in and day-out, in practice with his shot and his release, that’s pretty
impressive. I honestly think I’m more impressed watching him play defensively since I’ve been here. It’s
been unreal, the way he backchecks and plays in his own end and then when he gets his chances it’s
pretty cool. That moment must have been pretty special for him.”
On scoring his first goal as a Maple Leaf:
“It felt pretty good. I think it was Johnny going back door there and I was trying to hit him but I’ll take that
bounce. It was nice to see it go in. I thought individually I wasn’t very good to start the game so I felt like
that really helped me get going and move on from a couple mistakes.”
    WILLIAM NYLANDER
On Matthews scoring 50 and the fan reaction:
“It was pretty unreal. It actually reminded me of when I was younger and my dad was playing in
Washington and Ovechkin scored 50 one night when I was there. I think it was the night where he did the
fire gestured. It brought back some memories and it’s just incredible and well deserved.”
