    POSTGAME QUOTES:
    HEAD COACH SHELDON KEEFE

On back-to-back wins going into next week:
Keefe: It’s positive right, we need to get results and we’ve had some games early in the season where
we’ve played really well and didn’t get results and those don’t feel very good so getting results is good for
sure but as we see how that third period goes with them continuing to get back in the game, continue to
push that’s not nearly good enough.
On tonight’s strong start and first period:
Keefe: The first 10 minutes I thought we were really strong, lots of control, I really liked our first 10
minutes for sure. I thought we got stalled a little bit there in the later part of the first period up until
probably the last few shifts and we ended up scoring obviously which was a huge goal for us. Our start
was good, I liked a lot of things about that for sure, it was very positive. I liked parts of our second period
to, there is some good stuff happening within our game for sure I just – maybe part of it is we just haven’t
had the lead late in games enough this season but we’ve got more than enough experience on our team
that we should be better than that. Lots of good teaching points for us to come out of it. To get the win
and an opportunity to us it as a chance to be better the next time out and get used to playing with leads
and get comfortable with it which is really a staple of winning and a good hockey team but we’ll take it.
JOHN TAVARES (ONE GOAL, TWO ASSISTS)
    On his line’s chemistry:
Tavares: Well I played my first year obviously a lot with Mitch and then some good stretches here and
there with Kerf since he’s been here so I think there’s already a good comfort level playing with those two
and just understanding them and their games from those experiences. I think we just played quick, just
trying to keep things simple and play to our strengths, get to the offensive zone and have good puck
support, moving on touches and being hard to defend. Not trying to do to much, attack the net when it’s
there and hopefully good things happen and you eventually get rewarded and we did tonight.
    MICHAEL BUNTING (ONE GOAL)
    On tonight’s game:
Bunting: I thought we played hard, I thought we played a really good system. We were forcing turnovers
and were getting to the net a lot. Obviously we can’t let them back in the game like that at the end there.
When we get the lead we’ve got to keep it going forward and not let them catch up. A wins a win and we
    move forward to Tuesday.
JAKE MUZZIN (ONE GOAL, ONE ASSIST)
    On the team’s performance tonight:
Muzzin: Some mixed emotions. You know we’ll take the win, we did a lot of good things but we definitely
have to tighten things up and play better with the lead that’s for sure.
On the challenge to get their team defence in sync:
Muzzin: I think just consistency throughout the game, throughout the situational play – you know we
come out and have a great start to the third and then we let off a little bit and let them back in the game
so consistency doing it well and doing it the right way no matter the score or situation time, whatever it
may be, doing it right all the time.
ALEXANDER KERFOOT (ONE GOAL, ONE ASSIST)
On what was working so well with his line tonight:
Kerfoot: I thought we got off to a really good start in the first. Kind of had a lot of good zone time, moving
the puck pretty well and had some good motion. We just found a couple to go in for us tonight and
capitalized on some of the mistakes that they made.
On seeing Mitch get on the board tonight:
Kerfoot: Mitch is going to get on the board, he’s too good of a player to get held off for to long. He knew it
was coming, we all knew it was coming but for him to get his first it’s probably a little bit of a sigh of relief
and a good feeling, especially at a time like that where it was a huge goal for us and eventually win the
    game.
    PETR MRÁZEK (27 SAVES)
On his first game back from injury:
Mrazek: It felt good to be back and I felt really good early on as they were putting pucks on net so that
    definitely helped me.
On recording his first win as a Maple Leaf:
Mrazek: Yeah it’s always important especially when you win and today we needed that win.
