POSTGAME QUOTES

HEAD COACH GREG MOORE

On tonight’s game:

We had to weather a storm at the start. They usually come out strong in their building. They also haven’t played a game in awhile so, they had a lot of energy. They’ve been sitting resting. Källgren did a really good job of holding us in and letting us get our legs. We got through some special teams and then those two quick goals turned things for us. We started to find our game and the team did a really good job of building and keeping the momentum as the game went on.

On Rich Clune’s 700th career professional game:

It’s special. I also played against him back in the day. For anyone to string along a career for this long regardless of level, regardless of anything. The determination, the discipline, the consistency that he’s fought through on the ice and off the ice. He’s just a really impressive person. I feel fortunate to be able to know him, to be able to work with him. I know our team values him big time with the things that he brings to the group. I’m just really proud and happy for him.

JOSEPH BLANDISI (2 GOALS, 1 ASSIST)

On his second goal and 200th career professional point:

Just a good passing play. Lots of good line mates to play with on this team. You find that open ice and some guy will find you. I told Mac that that pass impressed me. I didn’t think he’d have seen me there. It was a pretty good gift from him.

On keeping the lead in the final 40 minutes:
Just staying relentless with it. We’ve got great leadership in our dressing room. Even after that first 20, we weren’t too happy with it. We know how to calm the guys down and give our best effort for the next 40.

RICH CLUNE (700th CAREER PROFESSIONAL GAME)

On his milestone:

Any game that I can get into is a gift. I’m just really grateful to do it here with Toronto and especially this team, this year. It’s a lot of fun. I’m grateful. It’s been a hell of a ride. I love it.
